Progress

• ICM staff and their families have re-located to Rwanda
• Two new companies incorporated with local farmers as shareholders and participating as members of the Board of Management
• New modern rice milling equipment has been purchased and is currently en-route from Asia to Rwanda via Dar es Salaam.
• Farmer demonstration and research plots have been developed in close arrangement with local farmer co-operatives and trainee agronomists
• A rice seed multiplication scheme is underway to ensure sufficient high quality disease free seed is available in the future.
• New arrangements have been negotiated with chemical and fertiliser supply companies to ensure appropriate logistics arrangements are in place.
